Project description: Persian Gulf Mineral and Metal Special Economic Zone is in km 13 of Shahid Rejaii Freeway in the west of Bandar Abbas. This zone with the name of Mines and Metals Special Economic zone was established in 1997 with the goal of providing the conditions for attracting domestic and foreign investments for construction of energy intensive industrial and mineral plants and mineral processing. Economic development, increase of job opportunities, expansion and development of modern manufacturing   technologies & management skills, product quality improvement and increase in export potentials with the aim of competing in international markets were other targets of this zone. In 2004 the name of this zone was changed to Persian Gulf Mineral and Metal Special Economic Zone. In 2005 the development plan of 3,000h of this zone was put in the agenda.

Services: SAM Rah Shahr prepared the environmental baseline studies and after that for the first time in Iran prepared the strategic environmental assessment report for development of this zone and received its approval from Department of Environment of Iran.
