Project description: Khuzestan Province has certain advantages over the other parts of the country. About 30% of the water of the country passes through the plains of this province and there are several plains suitable for farming and related industries. Major oil resources of the country are situated in this province. Existence of land border and Shalamcheh borderline with the neighbouring country, and the international airport gives this region a special privilege. In 2003 government ratified the development of Arvand Free Zone. At the present, the area of this zone is 37,000h, situated in the north west of the Persian Gulf in the intersection of Arvand and Karoon Rivers and contains the main cities of this area Abadan, Khorramshahr and Minushahr. This area is close to Iraq and Kuwait and due to its road, rail and marine transportation potentials has special importance.

Services: Rah Shahr International Group was the consultant of Arvand Free Zone in 2006. SAM Rah Shahr, an affiliate of this holding rendered various services such as baseline studies, environmental pollution studies, preparation of ecotourism plans in Minoo Island, crisis management plan, environmental management and monitoring plan, safety plan for Nowruz passengers visiting the war zones, ecological capability evaluation and natural hazards studies of this zone.
