Parsian Energy Intensive Industrial Special Economic Zone

Project description: In order to avoid sales of raw natural gas and creating added value and employment in the southern coasts of the country, eight areas were site selected for energy intensive industries. First priority and land number 1 is located in the west of Hormozgan with an area of 10,000 h, in Parsian Site. Initially, the main goal for development of this site was production of 10MT/Year of steel, 1.2MT/Year of Aluminium, 10,000MW of electricity and 10MT/Year of petrochemical products. A port with a capacity of 39MT/Year and 19 jetties were also designed to connect this site to international waters. (These figures changed when the master plan was reviewed after 10 years)

Services: SAM Rah Shahr has rendered wide range of services in this region. These services include environmental baseline studies, waste & waste water management studies, strategic environmental assessment, and preparation of HSE requirements for the contractors, HSE high supervision, environmental management and monitoring plan, environmental pollution studies, port site selection, cumulative effects assessment, environmental impact assessment.
