Project Description: Golgohar Mineral region is one of the most active mineral/ industrial hubs in the Middle East, rich in Iron ore. This region has the potentials to become an important competitive zone in Iran and even in the world. Extraction of Iron ore and production of Iron goes back to 900 years ago. In 1974, both studies and modern extraction of Iron ore from Golgohar Sirjan mines commenced. At the first phase, 5MT/Year of Iron ore was extracted from mine no.1 and 5.3 MT/Y Iron concentrate was produced.  At present production of another 6 MT/Y of concentrate and 10 MT/Y of pellets have been added.  These developments and future developments required further environmental considerations. One of these considerations was the development of the green space of Golgohar complex.

Services: Rah Shahr International Group was in charge of preparing the green space studies of Golgohar. Due to high rate of soil pollution in this region, the pedology was conducted by SAM Rah Shahr. These studies included determining the type and texture of the soil, soil pollution survey, feasibility study for development of the green space and soil modification. After completion of the above mentioned studies, SAM presented its suggestions.
