IKIA Airport City

IKIA Airport City

Client: Iran Airports & Air Navigations Company

Location: Tehran, Iran

Commencement: January 2012

Completion: September 2013

Project description: Due to geopolitical location of Iran in the region, Tehran has a great potential to become the passenger and cargo hub between Europe and East Asia instead of cities like Dubai.  In 1968 this potential was studied by American and French consultants and a plot of land with an area of 14,000 hectares was reserved for construction of an airport city. The concept once again revived in 2007 and Rah Shahr International Group became the prime consultant in collaboration with Nikken Sekkei from Japan.

Services: SAM Rah Shahr was appointed to prepare the baseline studies, environmental pollution (air, water and noise), waste management, strategic environmental assessment (SEA) and natural hazards studies, solar radiation pattern modelling and solar farm site selection, seismic and geoelectrical surveys as well as implementation of EHS Management System.
