Sidewalk Improvement of Azadi & Enghelab Streets

Client: Tehran Municipality

Location: Tehran, Iran

Commencement: March 2007

Completion: May 2007

Project description: Azadi Avenue is located in the west of Tehran. It connects Azadi Square in the west to Enghelab Square. It stretches to east to Imam Hossein Square via Enghelab Avenue. These two avenues divide Tehran to two sections, north and south. Practically these are the central avenues of Tehran.

These two avenues have totally about 15 kilometers length and are of the long avenues in Tehran. A plan for improvement of the side walk of these avenues was defined in 2006 and Rah Shahr International Group was commissioned for the design and supervision of this project.

Services: SAM Rah Shahr was involved in two stages of design and execution of this project. In the design phase, SAM was in charge of studying surface water collection system, safety assessment, vegetation and sidewalk pollution, as well as documenting the condition of the existing sidewalks and the building views from the avenue). In the execution phase, SAM supervised proper implementation of the EHS regulations both for the workshops and the operators since these avenues were in operation while this project was being completed.
