Project description: National Petrochemical Company (NPC) plans to develop petrochemical industries and increase its share in global markets. In this regard, in its fifth development plan several hubs have been defined for construction of large petrochemical complexes. One of these hubs is Lavan Sepehr Petrochemical Complex. The feedstock of this complex will be provided by Lavan Gas Field which is naturally a sweet gas. Extracted condensates will be used as feedstock for petrochemical complexes. In 2013, due to new priorities of Iranian Government based on the development and investment in shared oil and gas fields, the development of Lavan gas field and construction of this petrochemical complex was put to halt.
Services: Services rendered by SAM Rah Shahr for this project were social and environmental baseline studies, aircraft noise modelling, marine pollution monitoring, and site selection of petrochemical complexes and residential areas, and environmental compliance audit of existing oil facilities in Lavan Island.
